The Columbia Museum of Art  located in Columbia, South Carolina features works from the ancient Mediterranean to the Renaissance and Baroque. They also feature American and European works from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries.

 The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston presents their art collections and exhibits. Here you will find works created by artists from the beginning of time as well as artists from the greatest world cultures.
 The Museum of Modern Art, New York presents their art collections and exhibits. The site is really well done and gives a sense of the essence of this place.
 The National Museum of American Art  of the Smithsonian Institution is the first federal art collection in the United States. The museum's history spans more than 160 years, beginning as a private collection in Washington, D.C., and predating the founding of the Smithsonian itself in 1846.
 Philadelphia Museum of Art  located in Pennsylvania, USA has an impressive site that shows some of the works now exhibiting in their galleries.
 Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show is a juried exhibition and sale of contemporary crafts by 185 craft artists in the USA.
 Rooseum is a beautiful exhibition space in Malmo, Sweden and is a center for contempary art.

Art DEADLINES  is a list of competitions, contests, call for entries/papers, grants, scholarships, fellowships, jobs, internships, etc, in the arts or related areas (painting, drawing, animation, poetry, writing, sculpture, multimedia, reporting/ journalism, cartooning, photography, video, film, music, dance, etc), some of which have prizes worth thousands of dollars. It is international in scope. Contests and competitions for students, K-12 and college aged, are included. Some events/items take place on the Internet. Artists are invited to submit items.

Holiday Painting School in Ireland teaches courses in Landscape Painting in some of Ireland's most breathtaking locations. Classes are located in Connemara, Wicklow, and Dublin. Master Painter classes are also available.

Kala Art Institute  is a multicultural, non-profit organization that functions as an international communication center for artists. Kala strives to make its facilities available to Bay Area and visiting artists as a continuing service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. They also provide a variety of programs and services to the northen California region which include exhibitions, classes, lectures, tours, fellowships and low cost residences.

National Endowment for the Arts now has a site up on the web which is extensive and really classy looking. A must see.
Oueer Arts Resource a nonprofit Internet-based forum for the display and discussion of queer content in the visual arts.
Quiet Mountain Design offers a free artist-in web-residency program as well as free gallery space for all artists and poets.
Sinopia  is a store based in San Francisco which offers the finest quality of pigments and materials for restoration, interior design and fine arts. Their site also has an on-line pigment and raw artist materials catalog and hosts forums for artists dicussions.
Winsor & Newton is a manufacturer of fine art materials based in England and the United States. They provide comprehensive information and dynamic ideas for artists and all creative-types. Their site features a complete encyclopedia of art supplies and materials, illustrated art tips and techniques, a 'Learn to Paint' section, and a contributor's library of new creative applications.
World Wide Arts Resources is a comprehensive gateway to the arts on the Internet who's indices concentrates solely on the arts.
